Bishop Ocholla II

Bishop Ocholla II Ameda Macleonard Baker Mollo

Rt.Rev.Ocholla II Ameda Mollo Macleord Baker, a retired Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Kitgum, the province of the Church of Uganda. He is one of the pioneers of Acholi Religious Leaders Peace Initiative who worked very hard as a bridge to the Lord’s Resistance Army and Government of Uganda in order to bring peace in Northern Uganda. Bishop Ocholla has served on the United Religions Initiative (URI) Global Council of Trustees for Africa Region as well as the Chairperson for United Religions Initiative Great Lakes (URI-GL), two key positions where he has made enormous contribution to helping guide URI’s fulfillment of its mission, as well as stewarding and supporting its long term sustainability and strategic growth.

Julie Nalubwama

Julie is a Peace building and Conflict Transformation practitioner with over 14 years of hands- on experience in designing, managing, and implementing peace and conflict transformation interventions in multi-ethnic and multi-country contexts. She has vast experience in faith-based approaches and programming to catalyze change and sustainable development. She is passionate about bridging the gaps between theory and practice in peace and conflict. She is a Commonwealth Professional Fellow from the Centre or Trust Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University-UK, has a Master’s Degree in International Security & Conflict Studies from Dublin City University- Ireland, and also holds a postgraduate diploma in Public Policy and Governance from the Uganda Management Institute.
Julie is also a Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience and a member of the Uganda Counselors’ Association. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Counselling. She is passionate about mental health and loves working all people especially young people, women and religious leaders.

Abdu Katende

Katende Abdu also serves the URI Global Trustee for Africa. He has just retired as a lecturer in the Department of Religion and Peace Studies, Makerere University where he has taught for the last 35 years in the areas of Islamic Theology, Peace Studies and Inter-religious and Intercultural Dialogue. He is also the Executive Director of the Centre for Inter-religious and Inter-cultural Dialogue (CIID). He is a Fulbright Fellow and a Peace Ambassador for the King Abdallah International Centre for Inter-religious and Inter-cultural Dialogue (KAICIID). He has over 30 years of experience in the areas of Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies.

Florence Mirembe

Florence is a Social worker and Counselor with over 20 years of experience and has worked with organizations like Mild-May, Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation and lately, Infectious Diseases Institute (HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment). Florence has vast experience in various fields like Gender Based Violence, Research, counselling key populations, couple counselling, offering friendly services to the youth and community dialogues. Florence is currently offering consultancy services among the adolescents especially those abusing drugs.
