Mitigating Religious fundamentalism; an inclusive approach to the war on terror
The activities conducted under this project included a baseline survey both qualitative and quantitive on religious fundamentalism in Uganda, a Pan African meeting on the role of religion to promote peace, security and counter violent extremism, radio discussions among religious leaders, the security, human rights workers and youths on issues aligned to religious extremism, information seminar on religious extremism and its impact in Uganda, development and dissemination of anti-extremism materials and messages.
The project improved the relationship between security and civil society in jointly addressing the war on terror whereby all stakeholders feel as part of the mitigation process and not only security based. It also increased vigilance by management in most social places including the purchase of gadgets that detect nuclear related chemicals.
This project was aimed at addressing property injustices committed against women in Eastern Uganda particularly Jinja and Mayuge Districts implemented for two years from 2017 to 2018.
